News from the Gatehouse

The Oxford Gatehouse has a very special place in our hearts. We have first hand experience of the physical, social and mental needs that it addresses and the real impact this has for those sleeping rough in Oxford. It is great, therefore, to see this update from them today. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible! “The core service provided to Oxford’s homeless community by the Gatehouse is a free daily drop-in café, where many guests eat their only meal of the day. Particularly over the winter months this service provides essential support for rough sleepers, for whom simply surviving another night is their sole focus. Funds to enable this service to continue come from many individuals and organisations, but in 2020 a significant proportion of them have already been secured through a generous donation from Tessell8, which will allow the sandwiches, soup, fruit, cups of tea and much more to keep flowing for several months to come.”
