As many of you know, we made giving one of our core principles on the very first day of Tessell8. We have given a minimum of 10% of our operating profit away every year to change other peoples lives. We believe that there isn’t much point in having ‘stuff’ if it’s not spread around a bit.

We have some amazing stories (too many to share here but do ask us when you see us 😀).

The Oxford Gatehouse has been very close to our heart for many years both as volunteers and as our chosen charity.

Homelessness is a massive issue, just walk around any town centre and you will see just how bad it is. Some of the local authority policies will genuinely shock you. The work of the Oxford Gatehouse has been crucial in supporting the Oxford homeless and vulnerably housed for decades. This isn’t just in providing a hot meal but in providing a warm space, community, a hot shower, clothing and access to services.

We have always been overwhelmed by just how much our clients get behind this every year. This year has been especially good thanks to the brand team at Welcome Break. They have sacrificed massively of their time and resources to support The Gatehouse in ways we never could.

This year we decided to take advantage of the higher CT and give based on the CT for last year (basically giving the higher relief to them rather than keeping it). This meant the Gatehouse received an extra chunk towards their spiralling food bill. This, with a couple of local grants, will secure the entire food bill for the year.

On the face of it this looks amazing but it’s really a very small drop in terms of what is needed.
